Our Bees

Bees are an essential part of our ecosystem, and they play a crucial role in the pollination of flowers and plants. Additionally, they produce honey, a delicious and nutritious food that has been used for thousands of years for its health benefits.

We rear honey from the types of bees mentioned below:

Indian honey bee (Apis cerana):

The Indian honey bee is a native species of bee in India, and it is the most commonly used bee for honey production. These bees are smaller in size than the European honey bee and are known for their aggressive nature. However, they are more suited to the Indian climate and are resistant to various diseases.

European honey bee (Apis mellifera):

The European honey bee is another species of bee that is used for honey production in India. These bees are larger than Indian honey bees and are known for their docile nature.

Italian honey bee (Apis mellifera ligustica):

The Italian honey bee is a subspecies of the European honey bee and is known for its excellent honey production. These bees are larger than Indian honey bees and are docile in nature.

We Practice Ethical Honey Rearing Process:

Beekeeping is a delicate process, and it is crucial to ensure that the honey rearing process is ethical and sustainable. We are committed to the following processes:

Use of natural methods: We use natural methods for honey rearing, such as allowing the bees to build their honeycombs in natural hives, instead of using artificial hives. This allows the bees to build their hives according to their natural instincts, which results in healthier bees and better quality honey.

Avoidance of pesticides: Pesticides are harmful to bees, and their use is avoided during honey rearing. We use organic methods to control pests and diseases, such as using natural predators like birds and using natural repellents like garlic and neem oil.

Proper care of bees: We ensure proper care of our bees by providing them with adequate food, water, and shelter. We also ensure that the bees are not overworked and that they have sufficient time to rest.

Providing Adequate Food: Honey bees require a reliable source of food to maintain their health and energy levels. We provide our bees with sufficient nectar and pollen sources in the form of flowers, by migrating the box continuously following the flower cycle and seasons. Our objective is to provide a varied diet, as it can also improve the health of bees by ensuring they receive all the necessary nutrients.

Water: Bees need water for various activities, including cooling the hive, diluting honey, and raising their brood. Providing clean water sources close to the hive can help keep the bees healthy and prevent them from searching for water sources that may contain harmful chemicals or pathogens.

Shelter: Honey bees require a secure and stable shelter to protect them from the elements and predators. We ensure that hives are placed in a location that is dry, well-ventilated, and free from direct sunlight. The hives also well-maintained and free from cracks and leaks.

Fair treatment of bees: We treat our bees with respect and avoid any practices that may harm the bees or cause them distress.

We deploy various types of bees for honey production ensuring that our bees are treated with respect and that the honey produced is of the highest quality. By following ethical honey rearing practices, we ensure that the bees are healthy and that the honey produced is sustainable and environmentally friendly. Nonetheless, amazingly delicious!
